What is is RSS
|
RSS Stands for "Really Simple Syndication" (Wikipedia).
It is a web format that allows you to subscribe to a news feed, or in our case
inventory using a rss reader. Most mail programs ave rss readers, or "news
aggregators", that will periodically check an rss feed and notify when any new
topics, or in our case vehicles, become available.
Outlook has an RSS reader built in, as does Yahoo mail and GMail. When a new Item is published you will receive what looks like an email in your RSS subscribed list. There is no charge and the subscription is completely up to you.
Citrus Provides a RSS Feeds for our inventory in 2 ways:
- The Main Inventory RSS feed includes all of our vehicles. Your RSS reader will still only notify you when we first stock the vehicle as it arrives. The first time you subscribe to the feed our whole inventory will be downloaded. The file is small, but it will look like a couple hundred emails. After that, only newly published vehicles will show up, and will not include vehicles on order.
- There is a dynamic rss feed in the search screen that allows you to subscribe only to vehicles you may be interested in, say pre-owned SUV's. Once you add some Search criteria (options) to the form, the link will become active. We advise not making the search to specific as who knows when we will get another Used ford F-550 Truck. If you set your RSS feed up to look for all Pre owned Trucks then you will be notified every time we stock another pre owned truck. Or you could just look for any Truck or SUV we post, new or used the choice is yours.
